Soil Pollution – Causes, Effects and Actions

Soil pollution refers to the contamination of soil with harmful combinations of toxic chemicals (pollutants or contaminants) that accumulate over time and make the soil unfit for any activity. This poses serious health concerns to both plants and animals and further disintegration of soil can be disastrous for future generations. These pollutants can enter the human body through direct skin contact or even inhalation of harmful substances, the contaminants can also seep into water sources that can cause health concerns or even kill these animals. A variety of Ngo’s and individuals have taken up soil protection campaigns and continue to actively work towards it so that the present as well as the future generations can continue to thrive.

Crowdfunding-Benefits-Impaac-Foundation-non-profit-platform-Soil-Water-pollution-causes-effects-action-school-essay

Causes

One of the prime causes of soil pollution is agricultural waste, even though agriculture is considered to be more of a non-polluting form of profession but when the toxins and chemicals from pesticides and insecticides wear off it pollutes the soil and degrades its quality. Clothing industries that believe in fast fashion over sustainable tend to be more polluting and degrade soil quality as clothes take a lot of time to actually degrade into the soil. Irregular waste management is another cause of soil pollution that is on the increase in recent years, as it takes a long time to degrade and the chemicals from the waste reduce soil quality and transform it into an unusable land.

Crowdfunding-Benefits-Impaac-Foundation-non-profit-platform-Soil-Water-pollution-causes-effects-action-school-essay

Effects

Soil is the living force for us humans, without soil there would be no agriculture and hence no food for us that would result in widespread starvation and that might even lead us to the brink of the end of the world (P.S it might). Poor soil quality would reduce tree cover in areas that would lead to climate change and hence sprout a series of disastrous chain events. Mismanagement of waste results in foul smell that pollutes and even effects the health’s of the surrounding humans and animals. Radioactive ingredients present in polluted soil enter human body and cause adverse health effects such as cancer, deformities in unborn kids as well as old adults.

Crowdfunding-Benefits-Impaac-Foundation-non-profit-platform-Soil-Water-pollution-causes-effects-action-school-essay

Action

Some of the major ways in which we can protect our soil and ensure its stability for future generations are:
• Farmers should use natural manures instead of chemical fertilizers in their farms to ensure that the toxic chemicals do not damage the soil and reduce its fertility in the near future.
• Practising proper solid waste management plans ensure that the soil does not get damaged due to the waste not getting decomposed.
• We should recycle and reuse as many things as we can so that they end up in landfills or give way to soil pollution.
• Industries should be a little more conscious towards the waste they produce and make sure that it is free of any toxic waste as such

The Curse Of Climate Change

According to the UN climate change can be defined as long term shifts in temperature and weather patterns. This phenomenon is not alien to us as we frequently hear or even experience climate change around us or we must have heard our parents say that earlier the climate patterns were a lot more balanced than it is today. Climate change is mainly driven by irrational human activities over the ages whose consequences we have to bear now in terms of extreme heat or cold, floods in one part or droughts in the other, global warming, diseases, food and water scarcity etc. However, it is still not to late to help our planet onto the road to recovery and make it feasible for our future generations to come. 2015 to 2021 are the seven warmest years recorded in the history of our planet and if the trend continues, we will have to face record staggering global disasters. Since 1880, the rate of warming has only increased and effected more people.

Crowdfunding-Benefits-Impaac-Foundation-non-profit-platform-ClimateChange-deforestation-causes-effects-action-pollution

Causes Of Climate Change

Climate change is not a recent phenomenon and has been around from as long as we can remember and it is the cause of many disasters around the world but what are exactly the causes of climate change?
Fossil Fuels are being used to produce electricity is one of the major contributors of global warming that has drastically increased heatwaves all across the world. In the recent years the demand for goods has increased manifold leading to manufacturers producing emission that affect our climate in a negative way. Incessant cutting of trees, pollution, greenhouse gas emissions etc have led to such drastic consequences. Human interferences as such with the nature has led to harmful effects on both humans and animals as we all struggle to survive amidst such harsh climatic changes and the constant fear of natural disasters.

Effects Of Climate Change

We don’t need to scour far and wide to look for the effects of climate change as it is so very common that it is easily visible around us. Droughts, floods, global warming, glaciers melting etc. have become ever so common in the past few decades. While one part of the world faces such devastating floods that washes the livelihoods of millions away the other part faces droughts that leave people and animals desperate for water. The temperature of earth continues to soar as we see unbearable summers, glaciers have started melting at an alarming rate as animals like polar bears find it difficult to survive. Wildfires are also at an all time high, the dry leaves quickly catch fire due to the soaring temperature and destroys millions of acres of forestland further aggravating the problem of climate change.

Actions on Climate Change

Some ways we can still protect ourselves and our planet have been mentioned herein so that we can somehow reduce the effects of climate change.
• Practice afforestation by planting sapling in and around our house.
• Take the public transport instead of your car to locations easily accessible by them.
• Use renewable sources of energy like solar energy.
• Practice the 3R’s of sustainability – reduce, reuse and recycle.
• Save energy whenever possible, switch off fans and lights when not in use, close water taps so as to not waste water.
These are some ways in which we can effectively mange to curb down climate change, share the blog with your friends and family and take an action today.

What Really Happened

The terrifying Assam floods have left a devastating aftermath for the people and animals to suffer from and continue to do so. What started as drizzling rains that helped people after the extreme summer soon took the form of floods that destroyed and displaced many across Assam. From the last one week the state has been facing acute rainfall that has left over lakhs of people impacted. There have been landslides due to the structural constructions on the landscape of Assam that has left people dead or missing also the structure of the place is like a bowl that makes it susceptible to water logging. The situation has become so critical that the Indian Army had to intervene and help the common people in this crisis.

Donate For Strays With Kawfcares In Kashmir

About Kawfcares

Kashmir Animal Welfare Foundation (KAWFCares) have helped 1500+ from over 4+ years. It is a registered not–for–profit, volunteer-based organisation in Kashmir Valley with a mission to assist and enhance the lives of the valley’s abused, malnourished, injured/ignored/abandoned strays. Three Kashmiri women and a handful of volunteers are fighting hard for stray animals in turmoil-driven territory. Kawfcares is the first-ever animal rescue and welfare NGO in Kashmir. They work towards animal rescue, rehabilitation facilities to stray animals including Dogs, Cats and Horses. They have kept 7-9 horses with themselves who cannot be released on the roads and they need a lifetime century for such animals. They don’t have the means to get into wildlife. They are completely self-funded and do not receive any funding from government or any other organization. On a daily basis, KAWF reports 3-4 instances with symptoms ranging from skin problems to accidental injuries to serious medical difficulties.

Their Vision

To provide stray animals in Kashmir a life of dignity

What Does Kawfcares Do?

They strive to rescue and provide a place for every abandoned stray animal to live in. Some of the cases are treated on the spot by volunteers who are equipped with the necessary medical supplies and training to handle minor issues, while others that require immediate and long-term medical attention are transported to kennels where they are cared for by volunteers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They are a small-budget group, and due to the valley’s overall lack of animal care facilities and infrastructure, they have to pay for every stage of the process, from rescue to diagnosis to transportation. They currently owe one thousand dollars in unpaid pay, food and medicine bills, transportation, and another fifty thousand dollars in transportation costs for relocating some of our resident canines to a permanent sanctuary.

Kindly assist them in achieving their objective. Your support ensures that animals in such areas receive the same care as those in other parts of the country.

Help Kawfcares To Help Strays

They need funds for purchasing ambulances for stray animals. They receive at least 2-3 cases everyday and it is the need of the hour for them. They don’t have a hospital or a diagnostic centre. They don’t have ambulances and have to pay for treatment. They have to pay for food, transportation and salaries also. Monthly, they have expenses more than 1.5 lacs and finding it very hard to manage the costs.

They have gotten many animals adopted outside Kashmir. One such case is of Laila who was a paralyzed dog found on road and rescued in a pregnant state. She was taken in as foster by KAWF where she gave birth to a litter of 4 puppies. The team then embarked upon the task of getting her to Himachal where she alongwith her puppies was adopted into a lifetime sanctuary. Many such cases have been assimilated in Delhi NCR as well as Bangalore. They are looking at a state wide platform for animal lovers and welfare activists and access for animals to good food, good health and a good standard of life.

Benefits Of Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is an ancient form of money collection that is later donated or given to someone who is in need of it. People come together to pool their resources and donate it to an individual or an organisation for its benefit. There are multiple ways to crowdfund and help someone in need leading to the growing business of online crowdfunding. We encounter needy people and animals everyday on our way but it is not possible for us to help each one of them or even one of them due to our fast-paced lives. This is where online crowdfunding comes to help as now, we as a society can collectively help improve the life of another being. Online crowdfunding has led to a positive impact being made in our society, also our motto behind Impaac Foundation – a non-profit website that adheres to the needs of people, pets and the environment with 0 percent charges and 100 percent transparency. This blog will help you in understanding why is crowdfunding necessary, its benefits and the multiple websites that give you the opportunity to crowdfund and help people. You can also refer to an earlier blog on crowdfunding, the link is provided below.

crowdfunding-fundraising-Impaac-Foundation-help-save-donate

Some of the multiple benefits of crowdfunding are listed as below:

  • Feeling of Content and satisfaction

It is not always possible for us to go out there and help the ones in need and that might lead to feel guilty and unsatisfied. Online crowdfunding is a safe and viable option to donate to the needy via ngo’s that make sure your donations are being used for the betterment of the society. You get a feeling of contentment and satisfaction for being able to help people even with your fast paced lives.

  • Records of transactions

Online crowdfunding ensures that records of the donor’s transactions are kept properly to avoid dispute or misuse of the money. These records can act as proofs if the donor or the receiver act oblivious to the amount given or received. Offline crowdfunding does not contain records as such that lead to the misuse of money by the mediators.

Crowdfunding-Benefits-Impaac-Foundation-non-profit-platform-fundraising-help-save-donate
  • Growing donor base

After a campaign is made on the crowdfunding website, millions of people come and donate for the noble cause. Many of these people become loyal donors for the website and the ngo helping them in future endeavours as well leading to a loyal fanbase that can even help in emergency situations.

  • Low or no fundraising cost

Most fundraising platforms charge a little commission fee from the actual amount raised that is deducted before the withdrawal by the Ngo or individual. Impaac however charges 0 fees on any campaign, the whole amount is directly transferred to the Ngo with no processing being charged.

  • Free marketing

Nowadays online marketing has had a huge boom in the market. Social media marketing is the new trend nowadays. After creating the campaign the crowdfunding as well as the Ngo’s share this campaign with the wider public via social media platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook etc. Word spreads as people flock to donate to the cause.

Jigna Hiten – Rainbow Animal Aid

Animal rescuers are constantly trying to undo the years of abuse and neglect that animals have faced at the hands of humans. They are on their feet to rescue distressed animals at any time of the day after a phone call or even a message. These hidden angels are indulged in valuable service towards these voiceless animals. They rescue, treat and feed them until they are ready to get back up on their feet. The next step is finding them a loving home and family to take care of them. Some of the many people that we have featured are Smrity Dua, Manisha Debnath, Haroop Singh, Sukanya etc. One such avid rescuer is Jigna Hiten Modasia, the founder of Rainbow Animal Aid.

Who Is Jigna Hiten?

Jigna Hiten is an animal rescuer based in Diu who has dedicated her life to help strays and provide them a comfortable life. Jigna is the only person in the whole of Diu who has a registered animal rescue foundation and so whenever there is any case Jigna is the one to be approached by the locals. Her initial concerns were that Diu did not have a proper veterinary clinic for the treatment of animals so Jigna has to travel for 4 hours everyday to provide the injured animals treatment and basic aid. Her efforts are not quite recognised in Diu due to lack of awareness among people, she frequently comes upon cases like atrocities being committed by the locals or selling animals on sites like OLX. She regularly feeds more than 200 dogs and is a pet parent to 39 rescued Indies.

What Does She Do?

Right now Jigna doesn’t have a shelter yet but her plan is to establish one so that she can look after multiple pets at once. She conducts feeding drives, spraying and neuter programs, vaccination drives, adoption drives and most importantly they believe in #AdoptDontShop. Jigna is one wilful woman who continues to feed dogs even after repeated troubles with the society community and the normal people. She doesn’t give up and wants to help these animals in whatever way she can. Her efforts did not go in vain as she is now recognised by other fellow rescuers and the general public to aspire to be her and follow in her footsteps.

Impaac believes in bringing recognisation to these avid animal rescuers who are on the move always trying to make the world a better place for the voiceless. When some people choose to ignore the plight of these humble beings Jigna chooses to address and solve the issue.

HIS is a registered Indian charitable trust working for the benefit of animals in India. It is tied up with various other organisations in the United Kingdom, France and Switzerland. They provide free, quality medical assistance including surgical care for domesticated and street animals regardless of age and kind of injury. The surroundings provide a peaceful surrounding with green, serene landscapes which helps animals heal quicker. HIS has also worked on Animal Birth Control and has seen success. The number of dog bite cases are lower in Jaipur compared to other parts of the country. Although desperately short on certain diagnostic tools, HIS is set to move forward undaunted and provide the best care they can under the circumstances.

The blue cross of India

Captain Sundaram along with the support and help of his wife Usha came up with The Blue Cross, an organisation that works dedicatedly to save and protect animals from abuse and suffering. What started off as a small venture now grew up to be one of India’s leading animal care organisations. Due to the mass killings happening in India and Chennai specifically triggered Sundaram Ji and he planned to neutralise the dogs to control their population. Now they also actively do feeding drives, frequent adoption calls, treatment etc. There are many branches across India that have become a home for these voiceless animals.

Hachiko – The Loyal Dog

A dog is considered one of man’s best friends and are also one of the most loyal species known to mankind. These fluffballs can even sacrifice their own life to save or protect their masters. This quality makes them increasingly lovable to humans and so dogs are one of the most bought pets around the world. There are many instances and stories associated with dogs in Indian mythology as well. One such story is of the dog who followed the Pandavas on their way to death and would not give up until they reached the gates of heaven. Around the world stories like these are quite prevalent, today this blog covers the story of one such dog named Hachiko from Japan who is considered one of the most loyal dogs in history, around the world.

Hachiko was an Akita which was a diminishing breed of dog during those times. He first met his master Hidesaburo Ueno when he purchased the dog for his dear daughter and brought him to live in Shibuya Japan. The dog and his master had an unbreakable bond between them and this could clearly seen by the fact that everyday Hachiko would wait at the Shibuya station for Ueno to return home. This went for a couple of years but one day Ueno got a cerebral haemorrhage while teaching at his college and did not return home. Hachiko must have been confused after his master did not return but he did not give up his patience and would wait each day for the next nine years, nine months and fifteen days. He would remain hungry most of the time and the station staff would treat him badly. However, this changed when an article was published by a newspaper and the staff became friendly and people would bring treats and food to keep the dog nourished. Sadly he died in 1935 at the age of 11 due to natural causes.

`Hachiko became known throughout the world due to his loyalty towards his master and his innocent love for him. Multiple articles and documentaries were published for him and he was given a resting place right beside his master Hidesaburo Ueno. Multiple statues were unveiled on the different places he was born and lived in. There is one on the Shibuya station and another in the Tokyo university that commemorate his death. Every year on march 8 many people gather at Shibuya station to honour Hachiko.

Crowdfunding – Know How

What is crowdfunding

Crowdfunding as the name implies is when a huge amount of people donate funds for a business, venture or noble pursuit, it is known as crowdfunding. Crowdfunding is not a new avenue that has popped up in recent times, many organisations reach out to people for funds and even college events require students to gather funds from people.

So, what makes the term new for Indians?

Online crowdfunding is a pretty new term for many Indians as it is recently that we have seen a boom in the online crowdfunding business. Pandemic had left many people in dire need of funds and crowdfunding helped them to fulfil those needs of theirs. It deals with many different aspects like environmental protection, animals, Plants, women empowerment, etc. Campaigns are made for specific needs and then people pool their resources together for the betterment of the society.

NGO crowdfunding social platform Impaac Foundation help support donate

Why Crowdfunding

Everyone is very busy in their everyday lives and you cannot help but sometimes think about what you really are doing to improve our planet or how you wish you could do something for the planet and its people. The mission of charitable crowdfunding is to bring people together for a noble cause and revive humanity. It is the easiest way to raise funds for an urgent cause, for example: if someone needs money for a surgery, he can even get the money within 24 hours by network marketing of his campaign. It connects people from across the globe to come together as helping hands. A successful campaign can be a lifting stone for the crowdfunding platform as well so that they can connect more people to bring a change in society.

NGO crowdfunding social platform Impaac Foundation help support donate

How does it work

Crowding works in very few simple steps:

  • An organisation or an individual approaches a crowdfunding platform
  • They are requested to give their details and the details of the cause they are hoping to raise money for
  • Then they create a campaign for people to donate on
  • The campaign gets marketed on social media to raise awareness
  • People come forward to donate money for the campaign
  • The amount collected is then transferred to the victim
  • Helping them to achieve the funding required for the cause

Some Crowdfunding Websites In India

In recent times online crowdfunding platforms have increased manifold due to their conscious efforts towards saving the planet. However, out of these thousands of companies that claim to use the money for benefit of others some have started resorting to ill practises like scamming or intentionally showing people and animals in pain to gain sympathy.

No need to worry cause the noble ones are still in business and thriving, a list has been provided herein:

Supporting Animal Cruelty (Unknowingly)

Animals are being tortured every day right in front of our eyes but either we are too busy to pay heed to these innocent’s lives or we unknowingly support them. We might think we are helping or being compassionate to these animals but the reality can be deceiving. Often when we go to temples in the south, we might come across tied elephants that bless the devotes but do pay heed to those chained legs and watery eyes that demand freedom.

Zoos, aquatic zones, and so many places use animals as a form of entertainment that is extremely degrading to their way of life and we as people support them unknowingly in this. Impaac presents an awareness blog about the various cruelties animals face on an everyday basis and how we unknowingly become a part of this.

Animal cruelty practices around the world that we unknowingly support:

  • Elephant rides

Elephant rides are a pretty common site in various parts of India as well as the world, and many people whether young or old love riding them. However, beneath the friendly animals what we don’t see is the kind of torture that they go through to become efficient to carry humans and load on their backs. These elephants are separated from their families as babies and beaten with bullhooks so that they fear the trainers and obey them. These animals are kept in captivity provided with little food and water and made to work in adverse climatic conditions for long hours. Researchers have found that these elephants can develop PTSD as well. So, the next time you go to visit a place and find elephant rides, do not take part in the cruel activity, instead, feed them something or give some gentle on its head.

  • Advertisements and tv shows

Animals are also used in advertisements and tv shows, although we see a warning saying no animals are harmed it is hard to train them without beating so there is a high chance that the animals have been tortured to act in front of the camera. Also, they have been deprived of their natural habitat and forced to stay in a man-made environment.

  • Animal sports

Animal sports are quite prevalent in India and around the world, sports such as bullfighting, hunting, polo, rodeos, organized animal fighting, the bull festival in Spain, etc. These show us the height of animal cruelty as these animals are captivated, fed little food, and given drugs for aggressiveness on the field. Animal fighting contests usually end in the loser losing his while the winning animal gets scarred physically and mentally.

  • Circus and zoos

Circus and zoos have been a recreational activity for youngsters, although many people know about the horrors that go behind the screens, they still be a part of it to appease their young ones. These animals are also snatched from their families at a young age to make them fit to be a part of the circus. The animals are trained to stand on their legs that damage their spinal cords and heavy animals like elephants develop arthritis in their joints. Zoos keep animals away from their natural habitat and put them into a small enclosure that is surrounded by humans all the while. They are lonely with no other animal to accompany them and often die because of it. All of them have shown reduced lifespan because of the multiple factors stated above.

This blog had only one aim that is to open your eyes and prevent you from indulging in any form of animal entertainment. Although many animal organizations have tried to ban inhumane practices, they are still prevalent in different parts of India under religious garb.

Impaac believes in helping these animals to survive in their own habitat surrounded by their family. Although you cannot be there to help them, we bridge the gap and bring your donations to the use of these animals. Tohfa abandoned rescue mission

Tohfa- The Gift Of A Dog

Impaac started with the idea of creating an impact in our current situations in a positive way. A team of diligent people under the leadership of Mr. Pankaj Dhingra and Miss Nivedika Gupta has paved a long way of struggle for establishing this company. It aims to work for social and environmental causes and helps individuals and pets to grow up in a safe space. Since then we have helped countless organizations in rescuing, tending, and helping the strays get back on their feet. Although we have worked for many missions we still strive to provide a safe house to the munchkins that we encounter daily.

rescue dog mission Impaac

One such encounter was with Tohfa recounts our CEO Nivedika Gupta that she found freezing on the streets of Himachal, being the kind soul she is, she couldn’t leave the pup alone. She tried looking around for its owners but couldn’t find anyone. She found out the pup was starving so she immediately bought it some biscuits and fed it, later contacting a shelter 10kms away to ask for help. The shelter was closed but they agreed to take the puppy in during working days. Nivedika couldn’t shelter the puppy in her own house as she was herself on a trip to the place, so she took her back to her hotel with fear lingering that the authorities might not let the puppy in.

donate for the needy

She took the puppy with her to a restaurant near her hotel to ponder upon the poor pup’s shelter. The owner of the restaurant took interest in the pup and started playing with it, slowly forming an everlasting bond with it. Nivedika was slowly starting to find a mother figure for the pup in the kind restaurant lady, Nivedika approached her regarding the adoption of the puppy. Anita Thakur[ restaurant Lady ] immediately agreed to adopt the puppy and give it a new life thus naming it TOHFA [ the gift of God].

Everyday we come across many Tohfa’s on our way to home while they have nowhere else to go. If you come across any such dog, you can either contact the nearest pet shelter or can give a home to him|her at your abode.

For more such stories join us in this mission to spread happiness and compassion by liking and commenting on this blog and stay tuned for more.

Global Warming-Myth or Fact!

What Is Global Warming ?

Global warming has had a very saddening impact on our mother earth resulting in severe storms, tsunamis, melting glaciers, deforestation, loss of species, forest fires, the spread of diseases, poverty displacement and so much more but still, people feign ignorance to the same, claiming it to be a myth and nothing more. They seem to disregard the violent happenings that take place due to the phenomenon and seem to wait for the end of the world without taking conscious effort to help in reducing the environmental fury. The havoc mother nature has inflicted on us is much deserved, for countless decades we have been polluting our environment without any regard for our planet’s future and now after so many years, she has been responding with our pollutants on us. Mumbai’s coastline has seen a huge dump of plastic from the ocean, one which we created, depletion of the ozone layer has created many dangerous skin problems, while glaciers have also started melting at an alarming rate leading to displacement and death of many.

Eco Warriors

At a time like this, we have seen many people working hard to protect the environment and have accepted the leadership to guide future generations to live ecologically. Some of these eco-warriors are listed below:

  • Saalumarada Thimmakka – Thimmakka is the story of the sheer determination and will of a woman who with meager resources managed to plant about 400 banyan trees and thousands of others in various places across Karnataka. She had been childless for a long time and that prompted her to give a new life to the once barren stretch of land that now has a thick canopy of her trees.
  • Akshay Bhave – a young environmentalist with a brilliant idea to control and recycle plastic waste and use them in making sneakers. Plastic that takes decades to just start to break down was an excellent alternative to make long-lasting shoes that not only are fashionable but also comfortable.
  • Garvita Gulhati – the water girl of India has worked tirelessly towards preventing water waste. Her main area of concern was the huge amount of water being wasted in hotels and restaurants, she and her team reached out to over 5,00,000 places across India and prevented over 14 million liters of water from being wasted.
  • Kriti Tula – Another young woman on the way to creating sustainable fashion. Kriti is the co-founder of the company doodlage that creates sustainable and recyclable clothes that are high in comfort and fashion. She aims to reduce the huge amount of textile waste that is generated every year.
  • Soumya Ranjan Biswal – He works for coastal and marine life, especially saving the Olive Ridley sea turtles. He has participated in many beach clean-ups and has also worked with local communities, youth volunteers, and the forest department.

Solutions

And frankly writing, nobody is to blame for the misfortunes than us – ourselves. However, still, all is not lost as we can still restore the lost glory of our planet, by following some basic protocols to help our planet sustain.

  1. Whenever you go hiking, remember to carry back your trash to keep our mountains clean and accessible for future hiking enthusiasts.
  2. Recently there has been an increasing shit problem in the Himalayas [ P.S – it’s not as funny as it sounds ]. People generate a lot of excreta that does not disintegrate in the extreme cold temperature leading it to be rock solid and then when it meets the water bodies polluting it and making it unfit for human consumption. One solution for this would be to carry plastic bags so that you can carry your waste back to town and dispose of it properly.
  3. Walk, cycle, or take public transport to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  4. Practise afforestation, plant saplings on special occasions instead of celebrating lavishly and contributing to plastic usage.
  5. Plan your consumption according to your needs and don’t indulge in trends, try following the 3 r’s i.e reduce, reuse and recycle.

Why Do Dogs Run Away?

Why Do Dogs Run Away?

CT medical help with donate button

Are you a dog owner who is concerned about your dog running away? It is, indeed, a valid concern.

You’re most likely doing all in your power to keep them safe and happy. But, are you still wondering, ‘why does my dog run away from me?’ They may just become distracted, puzzled, or fearful of a particular situation.

You may encounter this problem when you adopt a new dog or pup. Having them run away will undoubtedly make you nervous. Is there anything you can do to help? Sure.

Understanding that point of view, here’s an article about why your dog runs away and how to avoid it.

Why Do Dogs Run Away?
Why Run Away?

It's their time to mate or your dog is afraid of something

During the height of their heat, they feel compelled to mate with the opposite sex.

In this scenario, they wait until they can rush out to find their mate. Be prepared if you have other dogs in your neighborhood or strays nearby. That is when they wait to run away from home and pounce on the other dogs to mate. It is natural, but certainly something you should look into.

The question of ‘why do dogs run away from home?’ is a familiar one. Fear is the most common reason for dogs to flee. It may be fireworks or anything else that makes them afraid. Thunderstorms affect dogs adversely too. In such situations, your pet may become disoriented and get lost.

Even if you have well-trained your pet, they are prone to flee if they are afraid. Examine the surroundings to determine what spooked them, whether specific sound, item, or person

"Dogs don't make our whole lives, but they make our lives whole." - Roger Caras

Why Do Dogs Run Away?
What Should He Choose?

They have anxiety, They don't get to go out often or it is simply frustrated

Some dogs are born anxious, while others develop it later in life. You could also notice them acting strangely, such as whimpering in the middle of the night.

If you’re wondering, “why does my dog keeps running away” it might be due to separation anxiety. If they were separated from their mother or brood when they were much older than newborn pups, they might desire to flee due to separation anxiety.

Have you ever thought that you might not be walking your dog enough? Your pet may like snuggling on his bed, but he prefers to go for walks too. It is an important aspect of their routine that you should not neglect.

They will have the temptation to run out and have fun if you don’t take them out frequently enough.

Your dog may get annoyed, anxious, or frustrated. Why? That might be because you leave them alone too frequently, tether them, or simply do not love them enough.

At the end of the day, they’re just like kids. They want your full attention, and if you don’t provide it to them, they may try to flee

How to Choose a Right Dog

Finally, you are getting a dog!

You are finally planning to buy or adopt a dog. That is a huge step. But, how do you make sure that you are choosing the right one? Here are four things you should think about before buying ot adopting a dog.

How to Choose a Right Dog
Dogs Everywhere

I thought she was doing her bit for the animals by being vegan, but it stumbled upon her one day that not participating in cruelty is not enough; She needed to do more. During the #lockdown, she got time to introspect. She decided to shut down her business, and that’s when she applied to Peepal Farm – an animal rescue organization in Himachal Pradesh, to work for animals’ full time.

  1. Knowing the dog’s energy level is very important. This will determine the amount of exercise you need to give the dog and in turn the amount of time you need to invest in him. A high energy dog will require at least an hour of running around or long walks . Whereas a mellow dog will do maybe with half hour of exercise.

2. The need of attention of every dog differs. A dog who stays around you and keeps nudging you will need you to engage with them often. A more independent dog who is content and sits peacefully will not need constant attention from you.

Someone Furr Everyone

3. The age of the dog is also very important. Raising a puppy is a lot of fun, but will need a lot of patience, training, toys and many more. While a mature dog will need alesser amount of training and time.

4. And if Veterinary bills are a consideration, then mixed breed dogs fit the bill better as they have lesser health issues. A pure pedigree dog can require more maintenance.

And in case you do have some money to spare then we suggest you adopt a Special needs dog which we assure you will be far more rewarding and fulfilling. They can have issues such as limited mobility or some allergy but still have a good quality of life and be very loving.

Summer was brought to Peepal Farm, Dharmashala by their volunteers. The treatment was immediately started. She was so scared in the beginning days that she couldn’t come outside to meet others. She lost one leg but slowly she got recovered and got used to the friendly environment of Peepal Farm. She lived in a cozy kennel and made many friends after a few days. She used to jump around and play in nearby area so people used to call her “Rabbit”. That’s how she started living a happy life.

With her career taking its road at the back of my mind, she was always stuck with notions of eventually marrying and settling down. Her aim through this time was always to see herself as a businesswoman, but life had its plans for her.

Choosing to dedicate her work to animals has been the most empowering decision of her life so far. Saloni soon understood that rescuing hurt animals from the streets is just curing the symptoms. The real problem that is often not addressed is people’s perspective and attitude towards animals.

This is precisely what she is aiming to work towards – animal welfare and awareness. Saloni wants to be part of making this world a better place even for animals, and there’s no looking back from this one.
